Melissa Leandro (b. 1989, Miami, FL) is an artist who works between drawing, painting, and textiles, currently based in Chicago, IL. She received her BFA and MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she currently teaches. Leandro has received awards and fellowships for her work and has attended numerous residencies, including: Vermont Studio Center, The Atlantic Center for the Arts (FL), Ragdale Foundation (IL), Roger Brown Residency (MI), Textiel Lab (Netherlands), among others. Recent solo and group shows include: Andrew Rafacz Gallery (Chicago), University of Nebraska, Museum of Contemporary Photography (Chicago), DePauw University (IN), Kent State University (OH), Pentimenti Gallery (PA), and The University Club of Chicago.
