Flor Flores (b. 1989, Mexico) is a transdisciplinary artist and poet living and working in Chicago. Flores envisions their works as “proposals for queer belongings and as new modes of expressing and relating to one another,” and their works often incorporate the recurring theme of a flower as a stand-in for the artist (Flor, which translates as flower in Spanish). They received their BFA from University of Illinois at Chicago. Recent solo and group exhibitions, include: Roman Susan Gallery (Chicago), 65Grand (Chicago), Good Naked Gallery (NY), Elmhurst Art Museum, The DePaul Art Museum, and Soft Times Gallery (SF). Recent performances took place at Lit y Luz at CDMX, Mexico and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA Chicago). Their work has appeared in Sonnengram, NewCity, Chicago Magazine and New American Paintings.
